Rosa Acosta Becomes the Face of 9Five Eyewear

The Hip Hop/Skateboard influenced eyewear line selects the buxom beauty as the focal point of Summer 2012 Collection

LOS ANGELES, CA (June 8, 2012) – Fitness star and model Rosa Acosta will make her debut as the face of9Five Eyewear in its Summer 2012 Campaign. Expanding her reach from men’s magazine covers and rapper videos, the Dominican Republican native adds the popular urban-meets skateboard-world eyewear company to her list of lifestyle features.

“Working with Rosa was a pleasure throughout. She completely killed it for the 9Five Summer 2012 Campaign,” adds founder and extreme skateboarder Mike Metcalf. Bringing sexy to sporty, Rosa Acosta adds just the right touch to the hot summer collection roll out. Making headlines as the summer kicks off, the sought after model will also release her first “Body by Rosa Acosta” workout DVD and fitness clothing line, establishing herself as a thriving entrepreneur.

The urban eyewear company boasts many celebrity and Hip-Hop star clients, making its mark in today’s street fashion arena. Its “9Five” moniker loosely represents the year 1995, a classic era in the skateboarding street world and Hip-Hop culture. With the absence of a stylish eyewear brand that catered to extreme sports enthusiasts, Metcalf decided to create his own 9Five collection that launched in 2009. “Taking inspiration from a classic era, along with the counter culture that supported it, 9Five Eyewear draws vibe and style from the skateboarding obsessed crate digging niche that thrived during this golden era,” Metcalf explains.

With collections designed by the likes of Steve Williams, Josh Kalis, Karl Watson, Eli Gold and rising star Jordan Hoffart, 9Five continues to pave an authentic path, creating premium eyewear from its roots — the skate lifestyle culture.
